(Sample Card)
Product Description
A versatile non-standard card made by bonding a contactless chip coil encapsulated in an ABS shell to a PVC sheet. Available chips include EM, MF, ST, ATMEL, TEMIC, TK series, etc. Supports silk-screen printing, PVC offset printing and inkjet coding. Suitable temperature: -10¡ãC~+**¡ãC.

ID Card
ID cards are similar to contactless IC cards in that they communicate via a built-in antenna, but they are read-only and usually have a larger operating range (63.5mm to **8mm, depending on the reader). You can read a certain amount of information from the ID card, such as the identity code, but you cannot write information back to the card. ID cards currently come in two formats: "ISO" standard thickness (0.6858mm-0.8382mm) and "clamshell" cards (1.524mm to 1.778mm). Because of their convenience, ID cards are used in increasingly wide applications, such as security, identity recognition and access control; in particular, their use for fast, automated passage has grown year by year. For FARGO card printers, you can optionally add an e-Card platform that includes an ID card reader. With this option, the printer can read information from the ID card chip and print it on the front or back of the card. In addition, it can encode ISO and JIS II standard magnetic stripe cards - all in a single pass of the card. The FARGO HDP 800 series card printer can even print "clamshell" cards. For the best print results, all cards should not exceed 1.778mm in thickness, and the PVC surface thickness should be no less than 0.381mm.

IC Card
Building on the functions and features of contact cards, contactless IC cards use a built-in antenna instead of contacts to read information from the chip. Contactless IC cards do not need to be inserted into a read/write device; they only need to be gently waved in front of the device to read the card's information. The operating distance is generally 63.5mm to 99.06mm, depending on the read/write device. Contactless IC cards have as broad an application range as contact IC cards, and because they need not be inserted into a read/write device, they are ** convenient and fast. Their use is currently growing rapidly in access control, identity recognition, e-passports, vending, parking and highway toll payment. For FARGO card printers, you can optionally add an e-Card platform that includes a "contactless IC encoder". With this option, the printer can read information from the card chip and print it on the front or back* of the card. In addition, it can encode ISO and JIS II standard magnetic stripe cards - all in a single pass of the card. * Cards must comply with ISO7816 standards 1-4 (T=0, T=1)
