Magnetic lock(Magnetic lock)standard installation method
|
Step 1: First use a screwdriver to open the cover, then use an Allen wrench to loosen the side plate, ready for installation (see Figure 1)
|
|
Step 2: Take out the mounting template, fold it along the dotted lines, place it at the lock-mounting position as shown in Figure 2, mark the drilling points, then drill.
|
|
Step 3: A. Fixing the armature (see Figure 3). Insert the Allen screw into the armature, place the rubber washer between two metal washers, then slip them onto the Allen screw. Insert the armature into the three holes drilled in the door, insert the mushroom head from the other side of the door, and use an Allen wrench to fasten the armature to the door.
B. Fixing the side plate (see Figure 3). Fix the side plate to the pre-drilled door frame with two round-head screws (through the side plate's slots). Note: do not tighten the side plate fully; let it move back and forth so its position can be adjusted. |
|
C. Adjust the position of the side plate so it aligns with the armature, ensuring the lock body makes close contact with the armature. D: Fix the lock body and side plate. After tightening the side plate's round-head screws, tighten all countersunk screws, then remove the round-head screws and drill a hole at a suitable point for wiring. Finally, use an Allen wrench to fasten the lock body to the side plate. (See Figure 4)
|
|
Step 4: Wire according to the manual. |
|
Step 5: Replace the cover and press the small aluminum stud into the lock body's screw hole (see Figure 5). See Figure 6 |

Figures 7 and 8 show the typical surface-mount installation for outward-opening doors

¡ï Installation Precautions When installing the armature, do not tighten it fully; let it sway slightly so it mates naturally with the lock body.
II. Surface installation for inward-opening doors:
Surface installation of inward-opening doors requires auxiliary accessories. We use decorative, high-** imported aluminum for these accessories: the Z&L bracket set. Each set contains three aluminum parts: the longer L1 for the lock body, and the two shorter Z2 and Z3 for the armature. Z2 is mounted on the door and has five countersunk holes on its edge for fixing to the door; Z3 fixes the armature and has three holes on its edge, the center hole aligned with the armature center. The installation method is described below.
a. First place the L1 bracket of the Z&L set at the lock-mounting position and fix it to the door frame or wall with M5*25 self-tapping screws. b. Use an Allen wrench to fasten the lock body to the L1 bracket. c. Fix the Z2 bracket to the door at the position corresponding to the L1 bracket. d. Loosely insert the armature into the three holes of Z1, then close the door so the magnet and armature fit tightly together and determine the mating position of Z1 and Z2. (The relative position of Z1 and Z2 can be adjusted according to door thickness.) e. Tighten Z1 and Z2, then fix the armature to Z1 with M8*25 Allen screws (threading the screw, iron plate, washer and rubber washer in order). f. For double doors, two Z &L bracket sets can be used

III. Recessed (built-in) installation:
The recessed installation method is the same for inward- and outward-opening doors For wooden doors, if the door-stop edge is large enough to recess the lock body, installation is very simple: just cut a suitable slot, recess the lock and tighten the screws. Aluminum door frames are usually hollow; to address this, we designed two installation methods. A. Wooden-liner method (see Figures 10 and 11): place a suitably sized wooden block as a liner in the door frame, then tighten the screws. This method is easy to source and install, and is the most commonly used in practice. B. Using mounting accessories: this method uses our accessories (four-hole iron plate + U-shaped bracket) to make installation easier.

¡ï Installation Precautions For recessed installation, ensure the door-stop edge is slightly larger than the chosen lock.
IV. Glass-door installation:
I. Installation method for glass doors with aluminum (or other) cladded frames For recessed installation on glass doors, the EM**0 series magnetic lock is generally used; it is our ** lock best suited to glass doors, and fits inward-opening, outward-opening and double-acting free doors. Installation is the same as the recessed installation for ordinary doors. ¡ï Installation Precautions The glass door needs an aluminum cladded frame; because the holding gap must be under 6mm, the gap from door edge to frame must be under 6mm, and a reliable floor spring is required, otherwise lock alignment is affected.
II. Installation method for frameless glass doors Ordinary locks are hard to install on glass doors, and even when possible they spoil the door's appearance. Our magnetic lock, with its ingeniously designed mounting accessories, can be installed easily and looks neat and reliable.
1. Install with the UBG bracket
Frameless glass doors need accessories for installation. The method is basically the same as surface-mounting on ordinary doors, except for step 3 (installing the armature), shown in Figure 9. USlot together with the rubber cushion and stainless shim (on the lock-screw side) slipped over the glass door, fastened to the glass with headless Allen screws, then fix the armature toUslot. For different glass-door thicknesses and magnetic lock models, we offer different mounting accessories:UBG bracket; see the table below for specifications:

2.Use theABbracket: firstABbracket to the glass door with special glass adhesive (or double-sided tape), then fix the armatureto the bracket.
V. Other precautions:
Please read the installation manual carefully before installation and note the following: Do not drill holes in the armature or lock body; do not replace the armature fixing screws; do not wipe the magnetic lock with harsh cleaners; do not alter the wiring.
Maintenance: Magnetic-lock maintenance is simpler than other locks: just keep the armature and lock body free of impurities; wipe the surface regularly with a non-corrosive cleaner.

Problem |
Possible cause |
Solution |
|
Door cannot lock |
1. No power supply
2. The power cable is loose |
1. Check the power supply
2. Fasten the power cable |
|
Insufficient holding force |
1. Insufficient power supply
2. The door is severely deformed or the magnetic lock is poorly installed,
reducing the contact area between the armature and the lock body.
3. The armature or lock-body surface has impurities. |
1. Make the power output reach the lock's normal
working state.
2. Adjust the door or reinstall the lock.
3. Remove impurities. |
|
Reed switch
Output error |
1. The armature and lock body are not in full contact
2. The reed-switch position is incorrect
3. The external load exceeds the maximum
Max. holding force |
1. Adjust the position of both
2. Please contact the supplier
3. Please readjust the power. |
